Bentemarie Kjeldbæk
Bentemarie Kjeldbæk can be described as a modern painter and graphic artist rooted in classical principles. Rethinking and redoing the tradition is thus the aim and result of Kjeldbæk’s work. Kjeldbæk is educated both in arts and crafts and from 1976-84 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, but the perhaps most significant source of input are her many stays in Spain. From Spain comes dramatic subject matter and colourful tones, often set in scenes of markets flamenco dancing and bull fighting. Kjeldbæk’s techniques with lighting, colours and dynamic lines add the final touches to her works.
