Birgitta Lund

Birgitta Lund is a photographer who studied at The International Center of Photography in New York where she stayed and lived for 18 years. She moved back to Denmark in 2003 and created a series of photos reflecting the personal and cultural shift she experienced during the emigration. The project was called “In Transit”, and she received the prestigious ‘Prix HSBC’ by Fondation HSBC pour la Photographie for the project. In her photographs Birgitta Lund captures aesthetic and poetic events from life which often have a metaphorical and documentary content at the same time. Birgitta Lund is represented by Julie Saul Gallery in New York and contributes to a photographic project in Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
