Jens-Flemming Sørensen

Jens-Flemming Sørensen is a Danish sculptor. Trained as a tailor and working as an autodidact painter, it was Sørensen’s stay at the EKS-skolen (the experimental anti-academy school in the 1960’s Copenhagen) that defined his future path. His works are often understood in the context of ‘magical realism’ which concerns both the content and the formal sides of his work. Mastering many materials and techniques, his often masterly works has been shown throughout Denmark. Sørensen, since 1987 residing in Italy, was the 1972-recipient of the Eckersberg Medal.
