Morten Schelde

Morten Schelde is educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2001 and has a background as a painter. He is best known for his drawings and characteristic use of red crayon. The works picture places, people and events from the artists own life. Another inspiration is science, and in 2006 Schelde travelled with the scientific Galathea 3 Expedition and created a series of drawings, photographs and graphics called The Great Fiction of Science. He has been involved in the decoration of the Opera House in Copenhagen and was among the artists chosen to refurbish the Palace of Frederic VIII, home of the Danish Crown Prince and Crown Princess. Schelde is represented at several Danish museums, among them Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Arken Museum of Modern Art and Statens Museum for Kunst.
