Peter Land

Peter Land investigates the role of the postmodern man through several kinds of media, most famously through videos. He depicts the absurdity of the human existence through humorous and self-ironical set-ups and he often uses himself as an actor in these grotesque scenarios. The videos contain, despite their immediate humour, a certain melancholia and powerlessness. Peter Land was educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1994 and his artistic oeuvre also includes installations, paintings and sculptures. He represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale in 2005, and his works are displayed at e.g. Statens Museum for Kunst.
