Poul Anker Bech
Poul Anker Bech was a realistic painter who attended The Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus for one year, but ended up studying art history. His evocative, poetical paintings picture the everyday life with surrealistic elements and undertones of both irony and melancholy. They deal with a combination of banalities and universal contemplations – how the major things are seen in the minor. Poul Anker Bech is represented at many Danish museums of art, e.g. Vendsyssel Kunstmuseum and Statens Museum for Kunst, and he was a member of the artist association ”Corner”.
