Macro Outlook: The US rate cut cycle has begun
Peter Garnry
Chief Investment Strategist
Summary: Today we note that Fed Chair Powell is set to speak later today and will likely try to push back against the recent strong easing of financial conditions and pricing of hefty Fed rate cuts that the market has priced to start as early as late 2023. If Powell can't impress the market, the incoming US data might have to do so, with the November ADP private payrolls up today and the PCE inflation data tomorrow. Elsewhere, we zoom in on the latest on crude oil and commodity performance this month, talk Apple, Crowdstrike and incoming earnings and more. Today's pod features Peter Garnry on equities, Ole Hansen on commodities and John J. Hardy hosting and on FX.
