Summary: Trump and Musk give in to market pressure

Trump and Musk cave
"I have no intention of firing him," was the sentence that boosted market sentiment yesterday as Donald Trump caved in.
US Treasury Secretary Bessent commented on the negotiations with China that they will be strenuous and long term but that he believes there will be a de-escalation of U.S.-China. The International Monetary Fund slashed it`s growth forecast.
As Tesla`s revenue falls 21% and profit drops 71%, Elon Musk announced he will cut back the time he devotes to the Trump administration starting May and spend more time with his business empire. Curiously, Tesla will delay an annual outlook to next quarter due to changing tariffs.
US Equities gained app 2.5%, in decent volumes, all of the Mag 7 rose more than 2%. Tesla ended up more than 5% in the aftermarket. 3m rose 8% on earnings while Northorp Grumman and RTX fell 13% and 10% respectively.
Intel is expected to announce 20% cuts in staff in the earnings call tomorrow.-
US 10 Year Yields are trading relatively calm at 4.35% while the USD Inex rises more than 1% to 9.30, EURUSD falls to 1.1380, GBPUSD 1.33 and USDJPY soars to 142. Gold gives up ground to 3320 and Silver rises to 32.70. Silver has established a range from 32 to 33, the breakout will be interesting. The Gold Silver ratio has receded to 101.56 The Swiss Franc jumps higher from the lows to trade at 82.20 after falling to 80.40 Monday. This relieves the SNB from having to intervene.
Bitcoin and Ethereum jump to now 93600 and 1890.
Today we are watching global PMI data, the EU Trade balance (normally not important but in the current economic environment maybe so) US New Home Sales and earnings.
Also, possible discussions in Ukraine, news on tariff negotiations and deflections from Team Trump are likely to move markets.
