Nvidia’s earnings: expectations vs. reality
Nvidia is one of the most closely followed companies by investors, and with good reason. Despite extremely high earnings expectations every quarter, Nvidia seems to outshine, time after time. The high expectations does however come with a price, and even the slightest disappointment in their earnings report can have a huge impact on the stock price.
Reporting Tuesday August 29, Nvidia managed to beat expectations once again with a reported Q2 revenue of USD 30 billion vs an expectation of USD 28.9 billion. Unexpectedly high revenue from Nvidia's data center business is a major part of that increase.
