Last week saw markets pivot from geopolitical concerns to focusing on corporate earnings with updates from Tesla and Meta bringing the standout headlines while in FX markets the Japanese Yen continued it’s slide and has brought the prospect of BoJ intervention ever closer.

The week ahead…
Another significant earnings week ahead with Tuesday and Thursday seeing reports from Amazon, AMD, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Apple. Tuesday also see’s Eurozone CPI while on Wednesday we have the macro event of the week as the FOMC meet for their policy decision. The bar for a hawkish Fed surprise is minimal with expectations of rate cuts pushed out all the way to December.
