Risk sentiment prevails after Powell!

The Nasdaq ended at a record high, lifted by big tech,  as investors shifted their focus to growth stocks.  The Dow gained 0.2%, the S&P 0.5 and the Nasdaq 0.8% . Microsoft hit 2 Trillion in Market cap for the first time ever. The volatility Index Vix fell to 16.66 after reaching 22 on Monday.  Bitcoin recovered from a five-month low to 34000 in  volatile trading, the low was below 30,000.

The USD Index trades at 91.87, Gold and Silver are little moved at 27.90 and 1780, EURSUD reclaimed the 1.19 GBPUSD is at 1.3920. Silver remains supported by the 200 day moving average.

Brazil's real hit a one-year high on a central bank more hawkish than expected.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reaffirmed the Fed was looking for a broad and inclusive recovery: "We will not raise interest rates pre-emptively because we fear the possible onset of inflation. We will wait for evidence of actual inflation or other imbalances” He expects the current high level of inflation to recede.

Japan's factory activity expanded at the slowest pace in 4 months with the Jibun PMI at 51.5. The Australian PMI also fell boding ill for the German, French, UK EU and US ones being released later.
